Tips for Listing Maximization

Images/Video:

  • We recommend using a square image (1:1 ratio) for your first image on your listing. This will make sure it displays the best across our platform and on your listing.
  • Images/videos that are not square will be cropped square in the search/explore grid, Top Pick grid and other collection page grids. They will not be cropped on your listing page.
  • Keep in mind your first image will be displayed in all search results and collection grids across the website.

Categories:

  • The more category combinations you can choose that relate to your work, the more places your listing will show up in search results, and the more chances for exposure.
  • Certain subcategories or very similar categories may be found in completely different categories. Be sure to search a variety of possible words relating to the type of art you make and see if any additional results come up that you may want to include in your category combinations.
  • Only one category combination is required.
  • Be careful not to add categories that do not relate to your practice. This can confuse users who are searching for certain types of artists, and it is against our Terms and Conditions to miscategorize your listing.

Non-Required Step Information:

  • Even though Steps 6-10 are not required to have an active listing and be eligible for the Collective Fund Program, we highly encourage you to fill out all possible information.  This information can play a large role in the accuracy of search results as we continue to roll out new and advanced search features for users to be able to find your listing.

Periodic Image Rotation / New Work:

  • Consider rotating your first image every month or two or updating your image gallery with new work or projects to keep your listing fresh.

Additional Listings:

  • If you are an artist with multiple art practices that span different artists types, ie- You are a painter and also a musician, consider purchasing an additional listing to differentiate and separate these practices and expand your search exposure.
